The Work Values Compass
Reveals what makes an employee satisfied at work: achievement, independence, recognition, people, support, or stability.

What it measures
It completes the interests compass: interests say what the student likes to do, and values say what satisfies them while they do it. A great deal of dropping out of a major is caused by a wasted value, not by a wrong interest.
How to read the result
Array
Before administering
Say: "Imagine yourself years from now in your work. What would make you wake up satisfied? There is no right answer."
Its limits
It measures what the employee wants, not what their job gives them today. The gap between the two is material for a conversation, not grounds for a decision.
Its dimensions
- AchievementWhen high: They need to feel mastery and tangible achievement.
- IndependenceWhen high: They need room to decide for themselves.

- Stability and ConditionsWhen high: They need stability, regularity and clarity about what is required.
